Small Victories

So…I get called into my bosses office. My supervisor and manager are both in there. They close the door behind me.
“We’ve been meaning to talk to you…”
They tell me that they have been impressed with my work ethic since I started there 7 months ago. They appreciate all I do. And that someone from another department wanted to send a kudos to me because I do my research before sending a case over to them to resolve. They handed me 2 cash gift cards as a thank you.

I feel humbled. It has been years since I’ve been thanked for a job well done. I used to pride myself for my work ethic, because my father instilled that in me. I had lost sight of that for a bit. But I feel it coming back slowly but surely.
I’m touched and I feel proud of myself, and I think if my dad were still here, he’d be proud of me too.

Day 240.
