I have gone to 2 virtual smart recovery meetings so far, and I feel like this is what I've been missing. I'm not knocking AA, but I really didn't feel like I was getting much out of it or out of the big book. I definitely NEED a sober community, and I think I may have actually found one where I belong. I'm also enjoying the handbook. It's written in a clear, concise manner that my autistic brain can understand. Also, it's free with kindle unlimited. I'm so grateful to Dave Rempel for suggesting I try it out. I feel really hopeful for the first time in a long time. Definitely give smart recovery a shot if you're curious about it.
That's amazing. I really hope you have found what you need. Keep up the good work and enjoy the journey.
That’s awesome, I hear Smart is a very good program. I’d definitely add Smart if it was readily available in my area. Well done!!
Same here, but they have a few online meetings. Nowhere near as many as AA has, though.
Thank you!
Outstanding. I hope it’s still working for you.
Smart was 100% necessary for ME to avoid repeated relapse. I love their tools. I post them from time to time.
For me, the learning curve-time was significantly cut as opposed to NA which is what I work now. I'd have been dead if it weren't for Smart Recovery.
I like smart recovery a alot but there are only a couple meetings here on the land of AA. And the ones I've been to are usually 5 people, tops. I do like the work seets and the practicality of the program. It makes more sense than asking sky daddy to make me a better person. Smart recovery is very similar to what I learn in therapy.
That’s great! AA doesn’t have any patent on recovery. I’m happy you’ve found something that works for you!!
