Snow dayzzzz

I had my first sober (adult) Snow day wed/thurs. It was weird. I’m an educator, so for the past 7 years, if there was a snow day, I got super excited…. To go home and get smashed. And then drink mimosas all day the next day. Pass out around 7 and “be ok” for work the next day.

I hadn’t had cravings in a while, but as soon as the announcement came over the PA on Tuesday, there is was.

My teacher friends came in on the way out talking about going to drink with their families. On the drive home, every liquor store was calling my name.

But I drove straight home. And I’m still sober. I’m not feeling proud yet, just amused and honestly.. kind of bewildered. Sobriety is weird.

What percent of teachers have issues with alcohol or other substances do you think? Is it like an open secret in your profession or does nobody talk about it

Just curious

No I don’t think so. I don’t know if it’s any higher in teaching than any other profession.

Great work handling a trigger like that. :clap:t3::clap:t3:

Sobriety Rocks Today I get to be be clean n sober. You should be proud of yourself for not pulling over or giving in to the drinking scene with friends. Real friends understand that your sobriety means worth. Don’t give in, don’t give up before the miracle happens.

Thank you

I’m glad you’re here and even if it is hard it’s worth it and you are worth the commitment:love_you_gesture::rose::pray::sun_with_face::heart_decoration:
