So here’s my thing…. I’m a night drinker. I NEVER had to have a drink before work or during the day. In my mind Day is for business, night is for me. Can anyone relate to this?
Ahhhh, I can’t. I’m an addict and all day using was normal for me. Good luck with that.
I can totally relate. It took me a long time to convince myself it was a problem because I’m successful on paper. I’m 4 months in and couldn’t be happier to be sober. It’s not easy but it’s worth it.
I was a night drinker also, but now I go to a late night 8:30pm meeting to help with triggers or cravings. It works for me, give it a shot.
Not for me I’m a bad alcoholic it’s none at all or all the time for me I’m miserable it’s day two for me after a relapse of four months after being sober for four months it was much better during the first four months than the last I’m struggling
Hi Donna, I was only a social drinker, so my drinking was also limited, but after over three years of sobriety I do not regret it for a second.
I was a night drinker as well. I had to find other things to do at night to occupy my mind and time.

It kind of sounds like a pattern..
I could be wrong but, that’s what it sounds like. Not everyone ones bottom is the same nor is everyone an alcoholic. Regardless of severity it sounds like a pattern.
Hopefully I’m wrong. Thats something you would have to determine. Let the group know how that all works out for ya
Maybe ask yourself, “why am I on a app with individuals of various addictions?”
There must be some concern due to identifying similarities.
Either way have a happy Thanksgiving
I’m definitely here for a reason. And yes it’s definitely a pattern.
Thanks, that helped Lyn
Then ya might be addicted to alcohol..
That’s something I can’t really state.
If you can personally relate then chances are..
Give it time for this is a progressive disease. Besides, it's not when or how often you drink, it's what happens when you do.
I thought everyone here was addicted or recovery…… Not sure I understand where you are coming from?
What I meant by that.. being that I do not possess a PhD nor a doctorate I myself couldn’t make such a diagnosis. Even if you were not asking for a diagnosis it wouldn’t be appropriate for me to make personal life decisions pertaining to your questions.
Like I stated above not everyone is alcoholic. If you find yourself having to drink in order to function (parties, relation, etc.)
I strongly suggest to get literature pertaining to alcoholic varieties. This could be found online library and or local social services. Through that literature you may or may not find similarities.. the. You will be able to make a decision if this is something you might want to treat.
I truly hope that you find comfort
If so this app is definitely a great place for support
Great Read… Thanks
I was a night drinker..and then as my disease progressed it was, a couple shots on my lunch and then a couple in the morning to get water and coffee down. Eventually I had to maintain a certain level of alcohol all day so I didn't get the shakes at work. But when night came I'd just get plowed!
This is awesome. Please elaborate more.
