So I moved to California to start a new life

So I moved to California to start a new life . To get away from what I KNOW . Everything has been going good . I've been in the state since July 17th . I went to detox for 23 days then to this sober living house . Ive been doing my IOP classes and everything is everything .
TODAY I was told I have 30 days left before I discharge .I have been looking for a job . It's been hard to get employed. I want to stay out here . I wanna stay sober . I wanna MAKE IT in life .Im probly gonna be homeless . That STILL doesn't make me wanna use . I haven't even had the urge . If I have to go back to Oklahoma , I feel like I'm being forced to go back to what I chose to leave

I ended up homeless for a short spell (semi self inflicted) I moved somewhere new early in sobriety, started a new job, did it all. Wasn’t the easiest challenge to face but the reward was well worth the effort.

Stay positive, but be practical. Keep moving forward. Get your Calfresh card so you have food money. There are some programs. What kind of work do you do?

Issac thankyou I'll check it out

There will be no "miracle" without hard work. Your "HP don't got you" without hard work. No amount of prayer can replace diligence and hard work It's just how it is. Like I said, be practical, and be open to jobs, and I'm sure it will pay off for you. Nothing mysterious about it.

Good luck brother. Keep us in the loop.

Check out construction jobs. I know there is a shortage of workers, most pay well above minimum wage and will train you. AND it’s a career! I started at the bottom and now I am one of the expediters at an employee owned company. Took 25 years but I wouldn’t change it for anything! Good luck man.

You’ll make it. I moved from Chicago to California

How is you belief in a power greater then yourself? Let go and let God. Pray for the knowledge to be of service. Believe in yourself. Believe that what you need will come.
