So I quit drinking and using been 2 months that's great but how long does it take to really get yourself back Mentally and spiritually ?
My question as well. 25 days sober here. I have had to incorporate motivational, and spiritual podcasts, positive affirmations in my day. I have to remember it took a long time to get to where I was and tell myself daily that who I was and who I had become took many years and I shouldn't expect to find myself in just a short period of sobriety. Look to the positive and grow with it in gratitude one day at a time. Congratulations to you on your sobriety.
Really depends on the person. Be patient hit meetings. Things get easier and better. The biggest thing is you have to reach out to the right people for good advice. Which means ya can’t hang out with the people you partied with. Eventually you can a little at a time but not now. Your worth it have you got a sponsor? What sucks now is feeling them feelings that we used to numb. Do things you enjoy doing as often as you can. I just stayed busy physically so my mine didn’t go off on bad thoughts. Hang in there things get better
Are you working the steps? If not, it will probably take longer. Working the steps addresses the mental and the spiritual.
It takes time and the time usually depends on the person best advice I can give is Don't give up be sure to work the steps and remember....JUST FOR TODAY
Get yourself back? That is assuming we were ever fully there in the first place.
This can be a slow progression. We don't mess things up overnight & don't fix them overnight. Honestly, after a few years of sobriety, working the AA steps, being of service & doing those living amends did I start to feel "right".
The time is different for everyone. Some lose the urge to drink & use immediately, others struggle for some time. There is no exact answer for everyone. Staying clean & sober today will help you reach your goal
