So I sit here with an increased heart rate at the present moment after playing with the pup. I wonder what percentage of my heart rate is normal age and what is alcohol induced. I resent any efforts that are being taken to shorten longevity after fighting so hard to get to a place where I am today.

It will take your body some time to get back to a “normal” state. When I was drinking my heart would race but now 2+ years in it is much better.

I never went to the doctor when I was drinking. Over 12 years of no physicals. I didn’t care if I lived or died so why go. After I got sober, I went and had a full panel done. It took about 6 months to get levels and such under control. I just went for my yearly and had a panel done again. ( and they blew out my vein taking blood! :rage:) and all my levels are back to “normal” except vitamin D. I am 48 and after getting my life back I feel better than ever. It will just take a bit of time. But check with your doctor for the piece of mind.
