So idk what to do my family drinks around holidays and talks about it and rubs it in my face

talking about it is one thing because I guess normal people like to advertise their drinking or something, I have no idea. But the "rubs it in my face " stuff I would never put up with. I can love my drinking/using relatives from a distance. I've experienced the contempt towards my recovery from fam members lashing out because I didn't bend over backwards for their unrealistic expectations of me, and the second they threw up anything about my personal recovery I cut ties immediately. I earned my chair in here, ain't giving it up today. I even changed my phone number and those relatives don't have it. A clear message was sent without me having to say one word. My recovery is my responsibility and I get serious when somebody threatens it. Prayers for you, this too shall pass. Don't drink no matter what.

yep, once I got clean I made sure to go to all family holiday stuff in my own car so I could have a way out if I started tripping to bad.
Well I don’t have that option
