So, I'm almost two months into my recovery. It's been great so far! Lots of time to find insight into myself and enjoy hobbies I haven't dug into in a while. But, I'm missing my friends. Particularly hanging out in groups of people. Everyone goes out and drinks together and I'm just not ready to be around that yet. I need this type of group socialization sometimes though. I don't do 12-Step groups, they're just not for me (no judgement if they work for you!). I'm working SMART Recovery and whatever other tools I find, which is working great for me, I just miss people...

Paul, would you be open to at least reading the big book of Alcoholics Anonymous? I to was skeptical about AA until I read a the big book. That book was written for alcoholics by alcoholics as an instruction manual or a text book. I too was stuck and meetings didn’t feel like they were helping. I’ve come to realize it’s cause I was stuck. Stuck on step 4. Time to get my step on.. stay sober my friend
