So my ex fiance, whom I still love however haven't seen in almost a year (I'm 16 months sober) when he joined the navy after I blew up our relationship, my career, and was diagnosed with cirrhosis. Will be HOME for leave in LESS THAN 24 HOURS, through everything he somehow still loves me and wants a future. My hold ups are 1, my sisters (who tbh are toxic) hate him, 2, he still likes to drink ( knows his limits now) which I havent really been around.... I'm very excited/ nervous to see him....
Hi, Deanna. I'm not trying to get in your business but it's not wise for anyone to determine the worth of a relationship based on the perspective of a family member. Secondly, you want and need to be sober. That has to come first. Be honest about it and if he can't respect that you need to end it.
I totally get why you feel excited and nervous. You know yourself/him/the relationship better than anyone. Just be careful and remember that anything we put before our sobriety, we lose
