So sleepy lately. Copious amounts of coffee doesn't help either, which I figured. When did y'all get your energy back?
After I started sleeping right, eating right, taking vitamins, especially vitamin D and b vitamins.
I have a day or 2 like that and then my normal energy returns. I try to just rest through those days if I am able.
I’m not sleeping so my energy in the morning tends to be low energy. However being sober has brought this anxious energy that I can’t kick. Sure I’ll drink coffee here and there but I’m generally feeling wired myself.
I've been taking melatonin before bed (very low dose, 1mg) so I wake up feeling energized and ready to go, but then I get sleepy a few hours later and need to nap. I go back to work tomorrow after having 10 days off, so hopefully being productive during the day will help with that. I also know that this is all part of the process and will eventually even out.
I think that's person to person. I got energy in sobriety when I started doing cardio regularly.
But sleep still evades me so I take Seraquel and Vistaril, RX wise ...they are about the only thing that works with me. Chamomile is nice. Oh yeah! I watched a neuroscientist the other day explain that you shouldn't drink coffee until you've been up about 2 hours, otherwise you aren't getting the full benefit and you are setting yourself up for an afternoon crash ( this for people that suck it down as soon as they wake up). YouTube search Andrew Huberman coffee if you want the actual explanation. Lol
I'm definitely one that sucks coffee down upon wakening! Lol. That makes sense though, thanks!
I hear you on that, coffee and Red Bull for me but seems to never be enough. I did get my first “night” of sleep though last night for the first time so I’m hoping to have more energy today. I’ll try and send some energy your way… I’m trying not to do cocaine so don’t know if that affects energy differently than alcohol… I’m only on day 5 though so I’m sure it takes longer than this. I just know it sucks and I feel like I’m dragging my feet and giving myself pep talks in my head every hour to not pass out and sleep the day away and try to go to sleep at night like a normal person… although I don’t know if I’ve ever really been “normal”
Today is my first day back at work from having some PTO, and I've been keeping busy so I've not been tired. So maybe coming back to work will help!
I hope that helps too! When I was working I felt better, I lost my license and business and am currently trying to get it back but I honestly don’t know if it’s possible at this point. I’m so happy you have a job to go back to and I hope it helps you feel better💕
I started taking B12 and getting outside more. Really helped me, but everyone is different.
Just expect everything to take a while to get back to normal. This is a marathon, not a race. I took a nap every day for the first 18 months of my sobriety.
I hope you get everything you deserve, hang in there!

Yeah, I'm remembering how things were back when I was sober for 7 months...around month 3, 4 is when I really started to notice a difference.
I’m a year 3 months from coke and I still drag
