So, went on a date to a beer festival of all places today. She got drunk along w hundreds of others. It was a pay one price drink unlimited 4oz samples from a ton of vendors kind of deal.
I loved being the lone sober person out of SO many people. Had quite a laugh!
(Free water and diet coke was a nice plus :grinning: )

Sweet. I used to hear stories from others about how they were not intoxicated, and allowed someone to drive under the influence.

Oh no. I even offered rides to people at the festival that we casually talked to!! We're on the same page there :grinning:
It's NEVER worth it.

Glad you were able to make it through sober.

I don't see how any of this is funny. Are we seriously laughing at people whose shoes we were in? Why did you even go on this date?

I'm not laughing at anyone w issues or the like. I think you might be reading into it or actual sentiment didn't come through via text. It was a good time and was happy about my status in life. Nothing wrong w that.
Why did I go? Why does anyone go? Kind of a weird question. I enjoy gatherings and festivals and I have no issues w being around booze without temptation. And when a pretty lady asks you out, you say yes!

No judgement, but sounds like a dumb/terrible idea. I don't even like being around drunks when I'M drunk hahaha

Wow. I wouldn’t have been able to do that but I’m impressed with your positive look on it! Perhaps further into sobriety I’ll be able to. :two_hearts::heart:Bravo

Definitely depends on the individual, what their situation is, how long sobriety has started, all that. I was a private drunk, so I def agree with not being around a lot of them when I am!

Thank you! You might surprise yourself. Maybe when you're comfortable you will integrate yourself slowly, at your own pace. :v:

I think that's great. I always wanted to stay in the "party zone" when I got sober a few years back and actually really enjoyed it!! It was like I had the freedom to be loud and crazy, whi h I already am when I get going, and no one noticed!! I'll dance on a table sober, I don't care!!! Good for you

Yeah, I totally get it. I didn't mean to come off as critical, wasn't my intention.

I couldn’t handle being around drunk people that long…not because I’d be worried about drinking but because they’re so ANNOYING! Hahah. Glad you had fun and stayed sober!

Woo hoo! Colleen's here, party can start! I never had a problem having fun sober, and I'm glad you're the sane way. Its better, bc you know when something is "too much" (no one can read a room drunk :grinning:) and you remember everything the next day!

It's not a weird question. This is a sober app. I guess I don't understand why someone would go to a beer festival who's sober and says "I love being the lone sober person out of SO many people. Had quite a laugh!" That's weird to me.

But hey- your life. You don't owe me an explanation.
