Question for the group. Newly sober (2/21/2024 - and doing great!), and recently divorced. Feel like a am at a phase where I am stuck. I am getting bored and want to go out in the evenings or weekends, but at a real loss of what to do. Used to go to a bar or hang with buddies and have some drinks but that is no longer appealing. Interested in any experiences or thoughts. Thanks!
Boredom is a huge trigger for me. Surprised to hear you are doing so well this early in your sobriety! I've become an obsessed gardener so maybe find a hobby, take a class about something you've always been interested or working out seems to be very popular
There are all kinds of activities going on with your local Alcoholics Anonymous group. I got involved and it’s great.
Exercise. Reading. Just recently went on Bumble and met sober people there.
A few days ago I figured out that when I get bored it is a good time to go to the gym.
I have a puzzle out when I get bored I make myself find a few pieces.
I've just found the beauty in nature.
I come on here
Idle hands are the devils playground.
Yup, a hobby and exercise. Guitar and basketball for me.

Go to AA meetings, make sober friends, do things with sober friends. Be happy.
Good afternoon Matthew welcome to your new life when I start to feel stuck. I do service work like going to a treatment center that I was in to give the message of experience strength and hope or to an H&I. And do some service work there or help a newcomer
Are you working the 12 steps with a sponsor?
No 12 steps, no sponsor. Just finally hit a wall and knew it was time to be done with hangovers, distraction, and relying on booze. Feel great and recognize that feeling of clarity is far better than being drunk.
Thanks for the input!
Hi Matthew, take a look at The Phoenix. It’s a sober activities group. See if they have anything in your area!
