Evan I try to avoid screen time as much as possible. Find meetings in your area. get connected with people that do hikes beach and park activities barbecues camping getherings fellowship is our way to get out of self. good luck
Fly Fishing helps me…I suck at it but it’s a great distraction and way to be mindful and stay focused
Build something… find a model, a Lego, a project. Color or paint, a picture, a book a room. Library programs for anything.
I listen to comedy alot because laughter is great medicine. I have learned to be more creative in sobriety with woodwork and art of many forms. If I could do all the walking I'd love to go fishing this time of year, hiking or even play some disc golf. Golfing, shooting range, gym, bowling, surfing. Maybe learning something new? I've got a whole list I mean to out up here but with recent water damage thi gs got moved around. Hopefully I'll get it up asap.
Do you have interest in music? Learning an instrument might be a good venture, or painting as well. I play guitar/bass and it's very beneficial for me.
Feel you on this for sure! I played guitar like crazy and wrote songs. With the hours daily in creative mode, I got much better! Creating and expressing is a part of who we are and vital to our emotional sobriety/balance. I believe our creativity is part of our purpose! Art is vast, music, writing, engineering, landscaping or whatever turns you on. Explore and enjoy!
I hope this helps.
