I find myself bored or just not knowing how to best serve my time. More importantly, how to find peace and joy in the things I do…Clean! Please help me!- what do all of you with clean time do for entertainment or hobbies besides watching a screen or going to the gym?. Because that’s all I do and I want to add more variety to my leisure/ creative time. Doesn’t have to be profound. Any suggestion will help. The more options the better chances for me to stay busy and stay clean!
What do you like to do? I started reading again and joined a book club, started riding my motorcycle again, and started going back to concerts.
Alone doesn't mean you have to be lonely I love that in your bio you know last weekend after 3 years I did Relapse and it was the same old same old so I think this is a great post for everybody what to do when you find you're bored.
I personally watch mini series on TV. What I once thought was an inconvenience I know appreciate and go see family. Try to stay where there's crowds so I don't stand out alone like flea markets or festivals
Book club sounds fun!
I like farmers markets!
Service. Working with others in your program. Your HP will handle the rest.

Great list!
My best friend and I started monthly dates. This is where we each take turns planning a new activity. We’ve gone to a baseball game, haunted house, camping, and did a photo shoot with a professional photographer.
On the regular though, I’m not a tv person, so my go to is reading for enjoyment, cooking, growing plants, gardening, coffee with friends, getting tattoos (🫣), and working out.
I go to AA meetings.. there’s people that will help you.. there’s always something going on and people to do it with.. we have meetings and cook outs.. dinners.. we go camping.. you get a sponsor and talk to them about what you’re feeling..
Another way to look at it Evan; based on what you wrote, is that it’s not your time. It’s your HP’s time. Ask you HP this question in your morning prayers. When you meditate, the answers will come.
First and foremost find folks doing life clean like you. AA, NA, Church, whatever. That will remove half the challenge immediately.
Let the list be your friend. Twelve things you could be better at. One a month as a daily focus. Let November be the month you say his first. Learn no latter how scary to introduce yourself. Compliment one person a day just because .Three things you’d like to learn. Separate them by four months and focus on that. Rake a class. Youtube has free classes on just about everything. 12 restaurants you want to try and with whom? One per month. Read a book a month. Self help, Sci Fi…whatever you enjoy.
The key is to write it down. When you see it in black and white somehow it becomes more real!
Community center! Good one!
I still feel like an outsider in 12 step but I will keep going
Not looking for “help” as much as looking for new ways to socialize and spend/ create quality time
I would love to volunteer and help other- half of me still feels that “I’m the charity “ and have nothing to give people at the moment
Join our book club!
Write a new song or learn a cover and modify it. I find turning fast songs into ballads to be a really cathartic exercise.
Try the Phoenix app or a local sober ride group for some more active group activities.
Incorrect, if you have the ability to go workout at the gym that’s something to be grateful for. Also, that means that you can be of service to your family, neighbors, and community. AA is always looking for volunteers. So is your local community center, senior center, food bank, etc.
Send me the link!
Your absolutely right. I’ll be checking in at the local community center first thing tomorrow
