Sober.. but crying a lot

So I’m six days sober, and I’m in therapy now but I’m crying literally every day. I’m sad about the choices I made while drinking that have led me to be lonely and unemployed. Is crying so much normal?

Will it get easier?

For sure

I was in a small group one time listening to a guy share about his wife and 6 yr old daughter being killed in a head on collision while he was in the truck too. He was the only survivor and out came the vodka bottle. Our entire small group was crying because he could barely read his story. The counselor said something I'll never forget.
"God gave us tear ducts to release the pain".

If you haven’t already, my suggestion would be to start the steps. I cried for the first 90 days. It was rough. I was full of regret and fear. It does get better - one day at a time

It does get better. And, as you get better, you'll be more proud of who you're becoming. We can't change all the bad things but we can create new, good things.

Yes, it sucks to hear “one day at a time” but cutting out the things that harmed you is a choice you made. You want to be sober. It’s just hard to be alone in the sobriety. But I’m here if you need a friend :heartbeat:
