Today I’m a bit tired. I worked yesterday and then went out mini golfing with a group of millennials I’ve never met before. It was fun and interesting at the same time! 
I may have been the oldest one in the group… well afterwards the group leader said that everyone is going to the local bar afterwards. When I heard that my mind quickly snapped shut! I told myself nope, I’m my head. Then we walked out front and I told the group thank you for the fun time but I’m not going to make it to the bar. I didn’t stop there, I told them I don’t drink. Their response was there is a few of us that don’t drink either. I said oh, but I’m a real Alcoholic. Then the group leader said ok, not going to make you go to a bar…
I quickly looked up the newest meeting, went and got fuel and was about 5 minutes late to the meeting. I’m so glad that I went out to meet new people and said no to going to the bar. I had a more real connection at the meeting with the people I’ve never met them with the meet up group. It’s amazing how sobriety and those who work the program have this instant connection. I’m grateful I woke up sober today
