Sober concert

Went to see Red Hot Chili Peppers last night and had a blast! I was genuinely in the moment. Had no desire to drink. Spent $100 on a hoodie (kinda pricey) but I would have spent double that on drugs and alcohol. Went home right after, got rest, woke up today bright and early feeling amazing :relaxed:

That’s awesome. I saw Dead and Co. last year at Riverbend when I was 9 months sober. I had the same kind of experience. No desire to drink and drug. Actually, I got a good, hard, sober look at what I was like for years. I’m grateful for the experience.

This is actually really inspiring because I have a concert next week and am having a little anxiety about going sober for the first time. After reading this I feel a little less nervous!

You went to see the Red Hot Chili Peppers sober?!! Some are sicker than others ... just kidding, thought I'd throw out a bit of levity :rofl:

Serious note, that's awesome and really happy for you. The victories matter and I'm glad that you shared. Amazing when we can look at an event or situation and realize what we were and who we are now and enjoy this thing called life. Congratz :clap:

I got out of treatment and immediately hit 3 Phish shows. Stayed sober no problem. Music is my life and I was going to shows sober for years before my ism took over.

Glad you had a fun time. Glad as well that John is back in RHCP.

Also - props to a certain member of the band who I have seen at meetings. He even has a commitment which is pretty rad

I was a bit worried because I thought a lot of people would be drinking but if was really just one big hot box :joy:

No way! Anthony ? But either way that’s amazing. Lol

It’s amazing how much you appreciate music when you’re sober.

My first concert ( Coldplay ) I was having mixture of emotions especially since my friends were pre gaming in the car so it was in my face but once the show started I forgot about all of that.

Now I fell bad for people standing in those long ridiculous line for an over priced drink.

Show was amazing! Felt a bit too short in my opinion and they didn’t sing Under The Bridge. But other than that, they were amazing.

My mom once bought me tickets to see this band I really like, next day she asked me how it was, I lied to her face and said it was amazing.

I didn’t remember sh*t .
