Grateful for being sober at an Almost Dead show tonight. And to the people who hold meetings at grateful Dead related shows. Sober meetings during set break. What a concept. I am not a meeting person, but I participated and then continued to dance like a maniac and had a great time.

If you're into the Dead check out the wharf rats. Sober heads, been around a long time. They're at all the dead and co shows and lots of other related bands
By the way, I got on the bus in 1988. Never got off. Cowboy Neil at the wheel
Concert tomorrow...last rodeo for this wild girl ...famous last words...it's TUFF staying sober at the things/fun times always come w losing sober...you kicked total a$$ Bruce Lee style

It's possible to have as much fun, it's just a little different. If the music moves you, it won't care if you're sober or not. I feel it the same way, head to toe, heart and soul. Not fade away.

Plus that you will actually remember it all! Lol...I had a GREAT time what I can remember and know it would have been so much more so sober...I just found an excuse to drink (I'm good at that! Lol) if/when some good live music ever again I'm going sober sober...I get tired of making excuses for myself
Yeah and it's great to not worry about who can drive home! The craziest thing, though, is that we're almost programmed to think people can't/don't have fun while sober. I look like a complete freak dancing around like a maniac and do not care one bit!

I'm a gen x metal head from back in the day...so yeah party party party...it's such an association that's its difficult to break ... I'm fine unless it's live music but I've had some bad too all due to alcohol...last time I saw Metallica (recently ish) well that night/trip and $hit ton of cash/effort was down the proverbial $h!++er just because I had to leave front stage (where my husband waited) just so I could go get us more beer...ugh

I play too and it helps w sober everything...I absolutely love music just you know the scene. When I saw everclear (lead singer) was talking about being sober for so many years while I was drunk/drinking watching the show but it was cool he said that and he got total support from the crowd/us...maybe I just also need to realize I'm not 21 anymore? 
Wow, I'd love to attend one of those meetings.
Sober people during set break sharing. Serenity type prayer circle at the end and one heck of a second set . We're all in this together kind of feeling.

Yeah playing guitar sober took some getting used to for me. Much more nervous playing in front of people. Now, though, I'm a much better musician than before! It is different, but everything else is too.
