That sums it all up, succinctly. I broke so many promises of tomorrow to my kids as a result of my drinking. They knew I was making empty promises.

Perfectly said. This is where I am at right now. Breaking my children’s hearts on empty promises.

Get some!!

It’ll get better. It works if you work it; I promise.

Hope you are in a better place now.

Doesn’t have to be that way forever. We can choose a different outcome. Best of luck to you.

This is exactly why I want to quit. Too many days lost to feeling like junk.

Do you know what’s stopping you?

The getting better never ends.

Right? Every few weeks I feel an elevation/improvement/clarity in my mind and body. I can’t explain it. What I do know is that the booze was poisoning so many parts of me I was oblivious to.

I’m just over 11 months sober. I didn’t get my sleep back until 2 months ago. My sleep schedule had been in fuc*ing shambles for 20+ years.

11 months, good for you! Hoping to get there soon. The sleep was the worst. I’d wake up in the middle of the night with my heart pounding. The next day I was so shaky and cloudy. I did that for years and years and years. it’s amazing what we put ourselves through and tolerated for just a little bit of what we thought was a good feeling.

Love the pic :camera_flash:

Woah that picture is beautiful!! (ღ˘⌣˘ღ)
What you said is soooo true too !! I would try doing fun things while using but would end up getting sick or just bored because my brain was so obsessed with using. I was so focused on using I couldn’t stop to smell the flowers.
