Sober for several months, but watching my addictive behavior begin again via sugar/sweets.
Last night I consumed an entire pint of vegan Ben & Jerry's ice cream, and while doing it, knowing it would make me fat and regretful, i felt out of control and like i deserved it - exactly the way I used to feel on a drinking binge lol!

Ahhh the sugar cravings. I got over a year and still have ice cream attacks once a week. It is better than a bottle of bourbon, so I will take it.

That’s me!!! I can’t stop larding up with sweets :joy:

Biggest relief in recovery was when I stopped eating and craving that sugar I missed

I'm basically saying that this will go away. I gained a lot of weight in recovery at first but am now somehow rail thin

I have always been a chocoholic. I try not to keep too much junk food in the house and opt for healthier snacks. It works most of the time, lol

I can totally relate. I've always liked sweets though. What I'm trying to do is avoid buying junk food and sweets in the house or I'll eat all of them. I've been buying more fruits and when I want sugar I've been trying to substitute fruits. Still, Ben and Jerry's is better than alcohol. Don't be hard on yourself. You're going in the right direction.
