Yeah I know. I’m trying to power through

Get to a meeting if possible. Maybe check out the sober stories in the app. Don't isolate

I agree with steve, isolating is probably the worst thing you could do right now, reach out and dont be afraid to ask someone for help or let them know your having trouble

Man; I don’t know you. I know that you’re in recovery. Have you admitted to your inner most self that your an alcoholic/addict? No one can do that for you. Until I honestly took the first step; it’s more than being powerless & unmanageable. I cannot take a drink/drug and predict what I will or will not do; Once I start drinking drugging, I cannot quit on my own. First step is the only step that has to be worked 100%.

Oh I’m definitely an alcoholic. No question about that. Just having a bad couple days.

I had a bad week and talked to my sponsor every day. It helped having it someone tell me it was going to be ok. And someone to listen and point out things to me that I wasn’t seeing. Stressful… you bet! This too will pass and you will feel better my man!

Week before last, I hit one fucked up spiritual bottom. I cried incessantly for two days straight..Even at work. I have been sober a very long time. It’s doesn’t matter how much time I have, stuff happens. I wasn’t plugged in with my Higher Power. But it passed and I was able to get past it; working the steps, talking to my sponsor. I need my program of recovery as much as I did when I got to the program. I forget the misery and suffering drink/drugs led me to.

First few weeks in sober living were rough for me. Dealing with a bunch of addicts can be difficult. But, once I focused on why I was there and stopped worrying about those around me, I found it easier to settle into a routine. Getting up early every day, making my bed, hitting a morning meeting, then work, after work meditation time, an evening meeting, and then reading, prayer before bed and then making sure I got adequate sleep every night.

That's how I created routines and structure to each day. For me idle time is a death sentence. I was fortunate to be able to enroll in online college courses that added more structure with assignments and deadlines.

Find a routine that works for you and then really work it. Best wishes on your recovery journey.

I had a negative attitude on Thursday and sat in it to long next thing you know I OD 2 days later

This too shall pass. It’s been a good couple weeks or more since I had any bad days or days where I’m in a funk and can’t get out. I’ve been diving deep into being of service to other alcoholics, sponsoring 5 people has really helped me stay out of my own way…

Plus I’m eating healthy, exercising, working hard, journaling, daily reprieve and meditation/prayer. Oh and studying the Bible. I must stay connected with my support group, the fellowship, church and reading up on spirituality in order for me to make this new found life stick… habits can be difficult to break.
One day at a time.

Oh Kev, I hear you. It’s been a rough go for me too, but remember there is a light at the end of the tunnel! I found an apartment and next will be your turn! Hang in there, sending you hugs!
