Nah, the satanic temple isn't actually about "Satan". It's more about positive thinking, respect for others as well as nature. They do a lot for women's reproductive rights. They have 7 tenets, basic "rules for living". But I don't really believe in any higher power like God or whatever. I feel that my higher power is the best version of me. Helping others, being dependable etc.
At least check out the 7 tenets, your phone won't blow up, I promise haha. I'm curious about your thoughts on them if you read them.

They are involved in a lot of legal stuff, so its important to have structure. I would say it isn't any more or less dramatic than christianity in American society. The tenets are easily adopted by anyone of any faith., Just as much of some of the basics of christianity are.
It does. That is by design in some aspects because that religion is very oppressive in some areas.
Iām sober without religion or dogma. To each their own.
The 7 tenets are interesting. Without any real study, Iād say that justice, autonomy and science are way more in line with my concept of a power greater than myself.

That's not the point of it. You're trying to not see it's merit.
It's more of a counter to religious oppression that seems to fly under the radar.

It's not even my chosen full time method of recovery, but it is a good recovery resource as well as humanist resource. I do the zoom meetings with them and they are very practical and helpful.

Hey thereā¦ piggybacking on your convoā¦ it becomes oppressive when led by Humans who lack understand , insight, or are just afraid to preach it the way it was intended. Regrettably this is a, as you know, widespread problem.

Def will look into this. I've been deferring my will to Allah for the most part, that's sort of where I keep my higher power conscience, but anything that promotes humility, kindness and service is a party as far as I'm concerned.

Preach all you want, to the people who want to hear the message. But do not force your beliefs on anyone. Do not deny anyone elseās beliefs. When I read a comment that is along the lines of āJesus is everyoneās higher powerā you might as well be one of those street corner preachers with a bullhorn and a cheap suit.
