Sobriety = No longer being alone
And feeling feelings again
Surrounded by bad a$$ people!
Dealing with my feelings is my tough point right now
This illness thrives on isolation and loneliness. Recovery is about connection. It’s not easy for many of us to push thru our fears and social anxieties. However, we must find the strength and courage to ask for help. We can’t do this alone.
Purdy friggin cool huh??!!!
10-4 good buddy.
Alcoholism is a disease of isolation
In recovery we learn new tools or coping skills for dealing with isolation. For me building a support group that’s made up of like minded people. Now that I’ve got this tool called support group or my new word I’ve barely used “friends” I can start using this tool. It does no good to have a support group and utilize it. You ask how do I utilize this tool? Good question! I text them, I call them and or I go on adventures with them. I don’t just call them or text them when I’m in a funk but to reach out and see how they are feeling. To know where others lives are at that moment. That’s what I call relieving thy bondage of self! It’s when I get outside of myself and help another person I feel joy and free from isolation!
This is a great topic! And plenty of tools to help cope.
Yes! So much yes!
Awesome!! I just told someone that in my fellowship; I am never alone anymore… When I was using, I could be in a full room and feel 110% entirely alone!! While I was a drunk mess-I thought made me happy, but it was a sad and depressing place to be! I am 7.5 yrs sober and no longer experience depression.

You’re never alone my friend!

100% Jud. Thanks for this!
If anyone is struggling, please reach out and let us know.
And like Jud says… know that YOU ARE NOT ALONE
