I turned 22 a month ago and had been sober curious for most of the year. I decided to start my sobriety journey 2 days ago, I have tried several times and failed, mainly because of parties and get togethers, but I'm really hopeful this time around. Only thing is I know I will loose community ties and not be invited to things, especially since my peers enjoy partying and its a "normal when young" thing. Any advice on how to cope with that?

Get to a program. AA, SMART recovery… something. Work the program honestly an you can succeed. My sponsor always said “those who matter don’t mind, those that mind don’t matter” you do you and just keep doing the next right thing.
Oh, Almasi! See it as a blessing. I wish I stopped at 22, instead of 32 when I barley made it to the ER with liver failure and almost died.
Now I live with the regret of over ten wasted years. Sobriety when you’re young is such a strong, independent, and individual choice!
Also, for what it’s worth, I don’t talk to anyone I knew ten years ago.
