Sobriety without AA

AA didn't work for me and I did go to rehab. However, I do not discourage anyone to go to meetings. If going to meetings and working the steps works for you then please do it.

Remember, the end goal is to stay sober or clean. How you get there and stay there is the most important thing. Leaving alcohol behind, removing all alcohol related products in my house and moving forward was what I had to do.

Everyone's path is different. I used work, my friendly support system, and when I had a craving I hopped into my SUV and turned on my rideshare app.

Do what works for you. I have 7 years sober and did it my way...

More power to ya. I know I could never stay sober and clean without my recovery programs. Curious to what sort of meds you are on. I’m old school and not into medications. Believe my HP is all the meds I need. Let him rule the day and all works out. Good luck.

I am on a similar path Mo. I went to some meetings in the beginning. Eventually, I felt like I got what I needed out of them and have not been to a meeting in over a year. I have been sober for 2 years & 9 months. When I feel the need, I just tell myself I am being stupid and my life is so much better than it was before. That is usually what helps me.
