Sometimes it’s hard to see people on day 70 or 180 or years. It makes me feel like there’s no way I can get there. Ugh. It seems so far away. The days are passing by slowly.
I felt like my first 30 days were slow. It didn't help that my days were literally 4 hours longer so that was more time I had to fill so I wouldn't be bored and thinking (a lot of time to sit and think just sucks). I'm now on day 69 according to this app and I can say days now are moving a lot quicker. 69 days and while I know I've done a lot... I still feel like I'm just barely leaving the starting line... but that's okay. Frankly it's good! My beginner advice is to make sure you practice taking stock of the good things you accomplish, no matter how small, every night. You'll hit the pillow feeling good.
Thank you. I appreciate your words of wisdom. I’ll do that! I’ll take stock every each night. I think that’s a great idea. Today, my most favorite aunt had a small stroke, I went into shock, cried, I was very upset, got dressed, grabbed my purse, and then stopped. I didn’t do it. I didn’t do it. I was so close. I’ll take stock of that tonight. Now, I’m glad I didn’t do it. Congratulations on your 69 days. Keep up the good work. You’re not such a beginner anymore
Those feelings will fade. Before you know it you will hit a year. Don’t give up. Believe you deserve sobriety, because you do. A friend of mine once said “nobody deserves to live a miserable life, especially if they can change their situation.” You are doing that with every 24 for hit the pillow sober.
I try not to put a time or a length on my sobriety. For me I just look forward to being sober tomorrow. One day at a time.
Long term sobriety is simple. Don’t drink and don’t die. One day at a time and they will add up.
Good advice
So simple So true
Im on day 5, love. So I get it. No one becomes good at anything without practice.

We all have the goal to stay sober therefore we can help support each other through our different journeys no matter the number. Your body is healing and in recovery that’s the important part.
