Spam accounts looking for friends is annoying. 
. Hopefully they are sober bots though 
How can one tell if it is spam?
A keen eye for certain behaviors hasn’t lead me astray. Generic phrasing, common misspelling, etc. There’s a laundry list of things but I’ve been around the block a time or two

Hey Ryan, normally it’s new accounts with little to no interaction with anybody except for a post talking about how they’re looking for love or they’re looking for friends and then they start like Friend requesting everybody privately. From there, they will talk to you for a short period through the chat, but then they try to push you to a third-party chat. I really don’t trust anybody who either asked for a phone number or pushes you to a third-party chat right away.. using the excuse of I don’t get on here much or I don’t really get notifications is just a poor excuse. If you don’t get on here much why did you sign up/messaging people and if you don’t get notifications you still know you’re talking to somebody, just get on a few times a day to see if you have anything new. It’s rather simple. Plus like Mr. X says behaviors like generic phrases, misspellings, etc..
