Spent the day swimming with my kids.. I took a few pictures and put my phone away and enjoyed hours in the pool with them! I’m a little beat up from them tackling me and jumping off my shoulders but so worth it. Sober, single mom life is fucking hard sometimes but then we have days like this where I see their smiles and it’s so worth being sober, being present, and fighting my demons for myself first and then them!! My oldest always says how happy she is that I am sober! Today she mentioned that I’m not like most moms I’m actually playing with them and having fun!! Plus I kicked her butt in both the holding our breaths and somersault underwater competitions😃 so happy to be sober today

WOW!!! If I looked up world's best mom I would bet money that's the picture next to the definition:pray:... I feel bad for the " normal people" who don't truly understand how amazing the little moments are

Thanks that means a lot especially because not to long ago my kids didn’t want to be around me and my oldest told me I was a loser drunk and when I went to treatment she was so mad at my drinking she wouldn’t talk to me when I called! Now we have an amazing relationship and my kids are so much happier with a sober happy mom!!

Ahh that is soo cool!! My kids are 9 and 11. I’m a single parent too. I messed up so badly with them for so long, I just love days like you had yesterday to make things right!! We had a crazy sleepover last night and even though 2 friends couldn’t make it, the ones who did all had a blast. I had to get them down at 1:30 am!!
