Sponsor

Who wants to be my sponsor? When asked that question i have no one who immediately pops into mind who would be a solid advocate. Anybody interested or know where I could find one?

Find a meeting and look for someone there I also heard of online meetings. You can always reach out to everyone here.

I can help on a short term basis until you can get one that lives near you.

To be honest, I don’t even know. Somebody to yell at me when I’m thinking about using.

I wouldn’t even know where to begin looking as far as meetings go. I tried to go to an AA meeting one time on my own and it just didn’t seem to fit.

Caleb.. I'll jump in and help you for the interim if you're still looking for a sponsor. I would recommend Aimee she's pretty badass. I highly recommend her

I would love some mentors and sponsors. It would help me stay goal oriented and not slip. The more the merrier. I slip way too easy.

Im sure you will beat yourself up time and time again but nothing in comparison to the road your drug of choice will take you on.

So sponsorship starts with attending A.A. So attend 90 meetings in 90 days.
You said you went before but “didn’t seem to fit”.
Of course it didn’t, you’re in a room full of sober people. Why would that feel like a fit for any alcoholic/addict?
Keep going and find a sponsor there. Online meetings don’t cut it.

Get past your fear and attend meetings I preferred NA at the beginning because that was the mindset I had at the time. Step work is the work that we do on ourselves. Change your environment. Go to places you wanted to go to before to find peace.

Gotta agree with the get your as$ to a meeting advice. If you’ve been battling this disease for 2 decades, you know the easier softer way don’t work. Let’s get to work brother. This platform is a nice little “supplement” to our recovery. It “might” even be enough to keep a sober curious person out of trouble. But if you’re a sick mf’er like many of us, you are going to need a strong daily recovery program. Let’s go brother. It’s time for action
