Sponsorship

Struggling to move forward in my sobriety. I’ve been doing 90/90, but haven’t found a sponsor yet to work the steps. Any suggestions on what to do next or best ways to go about finding a sponsor?

Try different AA meetings and locations. Start talking to people after the meeting to see if you click. :pray:t3:

Wot Luis said. Try different meetings. At some the secretary will make a sponsor need/sponsor volunteer announcement, or you can ask the secretary before the meeting starts.

A sponsor isn't necessarily a best friend, just someone who can offer their own experience and advice.

Also, never call your sponsor if you're loaded. Do it beforehand and maybe you won't relapse.

You could try to find a temporary sponsor for the meantime, hope that helps

Ask someone to sponsor you that has what you want but more importantly has and does the work. Not everyone does. You have control over that.

I would recommend looking into a men's meeting. I have found them to be more focused on recovery and sponsorship. I go to both mixed and men's meetings, but my home group is a men's meeting. This group puts a giant focus on sponsorship. They actually ask "Those without a sponsor please raise your hand. Those of you that have worked the steps please introduce yourselves to these people".
