Started CrossFit last month. I am sore and proud of myself but man I’m exhausted. I go to my class and then I’m done I’m for the day. Just chilling at home. I haven’t slipped up but I’m waiting for things to get “so much better.” Yet I’m in bed sleeping half of the day. What gives?

You may be experiencing Post Acute Withdrawal Syndrome (PAWS). It’s very common among the newly sober. Your body is going threw a change and figuring itself out now that it doesn’t have alcohol. Side effects can be low energy/fatigue, sleepiness, foggy head, confusion, etc. There are some good articles out there explaining it if you have some google time. It’ll better explain what your feeling.
My PAWS phase was about 4-6 months of lingering symptoms, but I was a heavy drinker for 2.5 years. I’m sober 11 months now and have tons of energy again. CrossFit is the base for most of my workouts.
Keep pushing and it will get better! But listen to your body. It needs time to recover. I really had to learn to be patient after getting sober.
