The resources that have been the most helpful for me are Young Peoples AA meetings, CA meetings and Phoenix Multisport events. All you have to do is show up, keep an open mind, and share honestly and the rest will take care of itself.
For me, the depression and anxiety were really kicking my a55.
I had to get professional help through medication and therapy, which then led me to inpatient rehab for 30 days. I learned a lot while there, not just through the classes, but also through talking to other patients/guests. You can get a lot of that through the resources here, and through interaction with other users of the app.
If something doesn't feel like it's working, keep looking until something feels right.
Yeah man, after about 2 weeks of eating pretty well and hitting the gym I start feeling really good, and sleeping better. I've had the tendency to break around that point and binge for a whole weekend, and have to start over but this time I want to put it down for good. If you're like me good grilled food, hitting the weights, reading books and working on house projects/ carpentry etc. Are great sober pastimes.
No don’t feel your life with AA meetings they suck I have been so taken down with those people they are fakes they’re really not OK now the 12 steps I’m good with that find somebody that will do the 12 steps with you and even then you can’t be promised mean I had a sponsor that hung her self as Sponsor that I lent $400 to and she just scared me I mean this is not totally the way to go the most and the most that I found AA aside was that I just got into church and I found some people that were attics and they understood me and I went from there and that’s the happiest I’ve ever been
We are kindred spirits brother. I’ve been trying since November and had a dozen relapses but keep swinging. Not about to give up giving up booze, after 35 years of self medicating and binging.
