Starting IOP!

Not really sure what all I want to say, I guess I just want to tell people who will (hopefully) be encouraging. But I am going to be starting out patient treatment this month. It was completely voluntary, I'm definitely nervous but I'm also excited to finally get some help. I'm not ready to tell my family yet, which is why I'm writing here. Anyone have experience/ tips for IOP?

This is really great news! “Others” may not understand what a huge step you’re taking, and how much strength it takes to make this decision. We know!!! As for IOP, just take it all in and learn as much as you can about addiction, tools to stay sober, and most importantly about yourself l. Now is the time be honest and let it all out. Ignore those that aren’t encouraging. Focus on all the love and support you do get. Keep us posted..

I been through IOP. I had a great therapist and group. 1000xs better than AA. Be open and honest and just what Lee said. Best of luck and prayers always :pray::sunflower:

That's a great choice for a much better life Vyvian! Nothing wrong with AA. It's helped give me a much better life than I thought possible!

Thank you so much! I'm so ready to get started, but unfortunately have to wait a couple weeks. I'm just trying to find ways to stay motivated in the meantime.
