Starting my sober journey without my partner

Just starting my sober journey. my partner is not sober, he generally drinks every day. I guess i’m waiting for something bad to happen to validate my feelings of discomfort around his drinking. something outside myself i can point to, as evidence. but maybe i’m just delaying the breakup. any advice for this type of situation? this is all very new and scary!

Congratulations :confetti_ball: on becoming sober, I hope everything goes great in life

Welcome to Loosid! You’re at the right place to get the suggestion you need to help stay sober.
My first suggestion is to focus on your sobriety. When others see that we are really making a change this can spark it for them to change as well. If we tell someone they need to they won’t. Especially if his an Alcoholic of my type. I had to hit rock bottom before I could see that I had a problem. It turns out my problem was with my thinking and not my drinking. Drinking was a solution…
Now back to your sobriety, have you heard of Alcoholics Anonymous? Its a great place to start. There are meetings you can attend either online or in person. The meeting guide app (with the chair logo) is perfect for finding them in your area.
Website aa . Org is another great spot to look up information.
Today is month 28 for me. I can say that it wasn’t easy but I’m in a good place now. Working the 12 steps daily! Life is good!
Ask me anything you want I’m here for you…
