Starting over. Today is day 1. Trying not to beat

Starting over. Today is day 1. Trying not to beat myself up but I am disappointed in myself. Having withdrawal symptoms that you would figure would keep me away from drinking. Any advice/support is appreciated.

I’m currently going through the same thing, I think every time after a night of drinking, I won’t do it again and then bam… I’m drunk again. It’s this cycle I wish would stop. I finally called an outpatient facility and have decided to go that route. I have orientation tomorrow. I couldn’t do it on my own, and I think it’s a big deal that you reached out. That’s half the battle.

Thank you. I'm considering a detox center. I had gone 60 days before drinking again. I'm determined to go further than that this time.

I don't have that. The withdrawal symptoms have calmed. I'm just having difficulty focusing on work currently though. Thanks again for the kind words. I need them today.

Keith. I did a twenty one day stay in rehab that included detox. Tabitha is right. Bad shit can happen on or around day three. Some people white knuckle it. I couldn’t do that. Good luck. We are all here for support

Congratulations Keith. Just because you relapsed doesn’t mean you should beat yourself up. Keep going strong. Do the next right thing and just just focus on the the 24 hours of sobriety. God bless you

Today is my first day too. Just take it one moment at a time. You are doing something so good for yourself, with time it will feel so worth it, hang in there!

Nearly everyone I hear, beats themselves up over something. Find a sponsor you can trust. Listen.... talk.... share at meetings. You’ll be surprised how many people share your story. You’re not alone. My prayers to you, buddy!

60 days? You’re sober 60 days? Celebrate that. You are 60 days healthier than you were before (I assume). Focus on the positive!

Thanks David. I'm using that as motivation. I did before, I will surpass it now.

Have you seen the video - on Loosid - your sobriety is like a salt shaker- if it tips over, a little spills out - but the shaker? Remains full. There’s enough negative criticism living off failure - celebrate and own your success! 60 days! Go bro!

Just don’t drink tonight. If you drank ? (I did. ) stop.

Nope. Didn't drink. My appetite finally came back and I've been much happier eating. :relaxed:

Good for you for seeking help. I had many many day ones. I did online sober coaching, 30 alcohol experiment with Annie Grace and Simon Chapple, and YouTube with Gabor Mate'. I have just over 100 days and alcohol is a non issue.
