Starting over

Struggling with staying sober, I do fine for a few days then I’m right back at it. I can’t understand what’s triggering me.

I started out by trying to get through a 10 day detox. I read “The 10 Day Alcohol Detox Plan” by Lewis David. I kept getting stuck at 3-4 days before I read this book. It’s probable that it’s that your cravings kick peak at around 72 hours and don’t really decline noticeably till around the end of 10 days. I like some if his suggested techniques like “urge surfing” and “just not today”. I’m at 18 days now and feel much more settled and motivated. I hope maybe this helps you too. Keep on trying! Rooting for you!

Thank you

Sometimes it's the comfort you feel. There may be no other trigger.

I have a disease called alcoholism. I can’t just decide to stop having it. I have to treat it every day with my program of recovery.

I have an idea for you to try, I’m only saying what worked for me after years of trying to stop drinking to only start again after a few days, weeks, even after a few months. I’ve been w/o a drop for 16 mos now, no issues at all. Send me a friend request if interested. I promise I’m not selling or promoting anything. I just like keeping stuff private. Regardless, the best of luck to you! :v:t3:&:yellow_heart:
