Staying Sober Without God

12 practical steps... by Jeffrey Munn.

Really great book for those who struggle with the god word and need something more concrete in their recovery.

I’ll check it out. I feel a little like an outsider sometimes in the community being an atheist. I respect believers and our goals align but there are many ways to heal and thrive.

I felt this way in AA at first, too, but i have found a group within the group that works for me. It also helps that here in Cleveland, we have quite a few secular AA meetings. I go to the non secular meetings too, and now, two years later, it's not a big deal to me. I'm comfortable with "allowing" (haha) people to believe what they want, and most people leave me alone with their beliefs and then we can all just focus on staying sober. No religion, no politics. The way it should be.
