Stopping drinking

I don’t think I can do it. I’ve been to rehabs and have liver disease. Recently lost a great job due to drinking. I need AA but I don’t have a car, want to go NA but can’t get to the meetings, I am becoming a recluse . Oh God please help me.

I think you Can !!!! Actually I know you Can !!!! Try and look at what you do have: 1 you’re here, 2 an opportunity for a better job, 3 choices for help in recovery, I also chose NA over AA .. it was just a better choice for me but whatever works .. as you grow your network people are willing to help you get to meetings you just have to put yourself out there …. The list is endless and the Blessings keep coming the longer we stay sober !!!!

Uber, busses, bikes, walk or zoom meetings. I have some great links if you like to get connected that way. One thing that super helpful in early recovery for me was living in sober living with the support of other women trying to get well. I was very against it when I moved in but I ended up living there for over a year and making the greatest friends I’ve ever had in my life. I didn’t have a car at the time either. The girls help me get to work and meetings every day.
I would suggest making it a point to get to a meeting and reach out to the group or even one woman after the meeting for help. It can be nerve racking but the only thing you’ll regret is not doing it.
If your share is just “hey I need a sponsor” that’s okay.

-recovery is not for people who need it, it’s for people who put in the work
