Stress. Stress is for everyone

Stress is inevitable. We all have it. I am grateful to wake up with the stress of work. We work because of the stress of bills that need to be paid. Very few of us have the opportunity to wake up without the stress of work. We wake up with the stress of choice. Stress is easier when we wake up sober and the decision for the day is to stay sober. The stress is easier when we wake up knowing that we get paid for working at something we love. I am grateful for today and the opportunities before me to serve others. I am grateful and looking forward to our Women's Batterers Intervention group, the Kids DBT group, and all of the people in between those groups that I am going to be speaking with regarding their recovery journey in personal development of learning more about themselves and their choices in relationship behaviors.

I am grateful Shiloh has come to our lives. I love that she knows how to play fetch. I absolutely do not love that she wants to play at midnight and 2 a.m. I love that she communicates her desires with her bark. I absolutely do not love this insistence of desire at midnight and 2 a.m. I am grateful for her. I just forgot what having a puppy was like. She is so coming in to her own personality and it is cute. Trust me. She is cute. I have to recognize that she is 4 months old not 4 years. She and I both are a work in progress. Little. Well. He seems unphased by her midnight requests to play other than his deep sighs, he just remains covered and ignores her. Shiloh. Hebrew for timid and shy. That is how I named her. Today, I have other names for her. None are pleasant nor appropriate :slightly_smiling_face:!

I am grateful today that I have had another sober weekend! Waking up sober. Waking up without the stress of alcohol looming in my system or dangling overhead. I am grateful I decided to get and stay sober. Strong in the journey of recovery. Today.

Grateful. Strong. Sober.
