Struggling… hard

Hi everyone, I’m Lauren.
I’m a Real Estate agent, addiction runs in my family and I was the last person to ever thought I’d get trapped in this ugly cycle.

I’m currently withdrawing from fet and h and trying to taper off suboxone so I’m not dependent on that.
Does anyone have any suggestions to get through these break through withdrawals? I feel like I’m dying, depressed, my anxiety is through the roof.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Also if you have experience with tapering off subs after withdrawal from another opioid I need opinions, please :sob:

A common suggestion is kratom. I am here to suggest otherwise. Kratom is addictive too and many people end up on subs to get off the kratom.

Time. Clean time. That’s what will fix the acute withdrawal. And 12 step meetings helped me attain recovery.

I’ve already set up a schedule of meetings on repeat in my phone

Ultimately, a medical detox is what you need and the easiest route. If you can't do that for whatever reason, I know it's controversial but it helped me ...Kratom. It pretty much just lessens withdrawal symptoms. It's a species of plant that's been used for thousands of years in southern Asia for withdrawal...from opiates or alcohol mostly. It is addictive as well but not for someone coming off of sub; you aren't going to get any type of euphoria...just some relief of withdrawal symptoms. Ultimately, though , you'll have to ween off of it after you've gotten out of the opioid withdrawal phase🤷 . It's still legal in most states ...try a green strain. Good luck to ya.

Lauren,

I can’t speak to the withdrawals as that was not my issue, but I’m friends with and around a lot of NA addicts that have overcome terrible situations and made it through the other side with Joy, Peace, and a new outlook on life. I know detox is serious and would follow someone’s lead on that that is trained. However most of the people I know will tell you that medically assisted detox can be just as rough and still keep them in a state of not being present and addicted to something else. The folks I know who have overcome are very hardcore on no Suboxone and even at times wont take a Tylenol because they don’t want to alter thier mental state. No joke. So I’m not suggesting anything here other than there may be another long term way and people out there that Were worst than us that made it out. My recovery folks lean heavy on the 12 steps, daily reprieve based on our spiritual conditions, and a full time connection to our higher power who I define as Jesus Christ.

For myself I would say community of people around you that you can have support you is supper important. And getting around others in NA,AA, SA etc… super important. We all get it. If it wasn’t for our recovery community this would be impossible.

I hope you hang in there and find your peace. This is really Tough and fear and hopelessness’s can be paralyzing. But there is a solution.

I believe that finding that balance between all, the physical, emotional, spiritual, mental, and community the answer will fall somewhere on that spectrum.

Hang in there and keep coming back. Don’t give up you can do this.

Fffffckkk doing other drugs to get off drugs!! I found that lots of mantra & prayers, walking, meetings and talking helped get me through the horrific anxiety, insomnia, demonic hallucinations and nausea.
Just know that it will get easier & better! You’ll never feel like this again unless you CHOOSE to use!
Mantra, prayers, walking, sunshine, meetings, reading, hot baths, and sleeping.
I hope this helps. I’ll be praying for you🙏

I had to do subs cold Turkey. Laid in bed for 6 days. Probably could have done it in less but mentally I had a VERRRY rough time. Soon I have ro go back on something g similar for a few months till my back surgery gets corrected. Gabapentin in medium to high doses has been said to help. It tends to help with withdraws across the board. YOGA. just getting the body moving and flowing and get those endorphins back running full time. I will pray for you. You got this!

Hi Lauren, It’s better to feel like that you are dying, transitioning from addiction to sobriety. They say that the grass is green on the other side and it is but the problem is with that with us as Addicts and alcoholics. is that we have not learned to live clean and sober. The cheddar is on and on and I and affect the body. You must just push through it say the third step prayer I recommend that you use the app called.” EVERYDAY AA”. Even if you’re not an alcoholic, I am in recovering attic and I’ve been going to AA meetings and using the big book for years now and it has helped.. you’re going to make it one step at a time or a step at a time, but think not that you can do this alone it takes a very brave person and a vulnerable person with the courageousness to get on social media and reach out for him. It is a start of a new beginning.

Hey Lauren, sent you a friend request. If you read my profile I have a little experience with H/fent and getting clean. I also was lucky enough to kick suboxone cold turkey though it wasn't pleasant. For me it was far worse than the street drugs to be quite honest. Regardless I will be praying for you and I hope that you get all of the help, encouragement and strength that you need!
