Struggling! My husband lefted 2yrs ago and my daughter blames me and my drinking? She won’t let me see my grandkids whom I live for! And I know they miss me as much! The headache is so bad I can’t stand it!
Are you still drinking.
Yes not a lot though
You have to completely stop
Sometimes we do so mush damage with our own actions that we never see. The good news is you see the damage and know the road to repair. A collapsed bridge is rebuilt by first gathering supplies and cleaning up debris. You have a lot of work to do, but it is doable.
You will get over this with determination and resilience. I can’t wait to hear you talk about how you finally quit drinking and become a huge motivation for other people struggling. Now let’s do it
I have one full week in!!! Not drinking! I talk to my counselor every week. I also belong to another group on line that I love to! I haven’t seen my grandkids except for a handful of times in 2 yrs she won’t let me and my heart is so broken I just want to numb my self!!!! I can’t stand not being with them!
Congrats on the two weeks! As far as your daughter and grands go, healing for them doesn't even start until at least six months of our dedication. This is how it was explained to me: How many years did you drink? Not asking you to put it out there on here but for you to bring it up in your mind and think about how long it was. For however many years that was was how long you (me, any of us) trained them and showed them over and over who you (we) were no matter how much they believed in us at one point, we taught them not to. Over and over until they finally got the picture. So now it is our job to prove to them and especially to ourselves that that is not who we are anymore. And there's no telling how long that could take, but it will just as much effort and dedication as we put into our addiction. Please, as much as I know it is so very painful, remember that their feelings are valid. I really hope this helps give at least a little insight, perspective, or understanding. I am definitely not in any way trying to dismiss your pain, please know that. Your feelings are very real and valid. I hope this is well received and that I didn't offend you in any way. Have a blessed night
No I’m not offended at all my husband lefted because of my drinking. That’s on me. I think I drank mostly because I knew in my heart and gut he was in love with someone else? I drank to cover up feelings around that. As far as my grandkids I never was drunk or anything ever in front of them! There wasn’t a catistrafic situation that happened ever? I run my own business have a home animals etc. I’ve been working with a group online and my own counselor once a week. Plus I’ve been on and out of counseling forever. I’ve gone years without drinking then years on? I’m trying to work on myself forever I’m tired
