I haven't relapsed but I've been struggling since NYE with wanting to use. My DOC is fentanyl and I'm on methadone but for some reason I'm struggling so much fighting the urge to give in and take a giant step back in the progress I've made so far. What do I do?
@shawna438836 play the video tape all the way through. You're willing to give it all up so you can feel like
later.
Do you have a sponsor? If not, just go to a meeting. Alcohol is my DOC but my mom was an addict and she went to meetings

I’m in the pretty much the exact same boat. I don’t really have support irl, and I’m fighting the urge to use even tho the suboxone will block it all. I’m trying to keep going and it’s been 5 whole days clean for me and I don’t want to lose this progress and have to do this all over again because it was awful
Answer me one question, who, what&why are are you in recovery for?
Im sorry your feeling like that. I recommend attending an NA meeting. If you download Zoom app, click join meeting, enter
meeting ID: 558 544 927 Passcode: 247247
^N.A. N.A. 24/7 (24 HR MARATHON MEETING)^
Thank you so much for the info! I am a new resident of a small town, and I moved from the biggest city in the state. Small town gossip is a thing, and I don’t want to be the subject of it in this town. A zoom meeting would be perfect
Shawna, I’ve been where you are many times. I learned that telling on myself constantly does help. Also getting to meetings, helping others in recovery (service) really helps!
Remember the misery when your last crashes happened. Be grateful for your current sobriety.
I’m here if you want to talk
Elliot, you’re not alone. I had to go to meetings, share my struggle with recovering addicts, ask for help. Try not to be alone for awhile. Stay in the center of recovery with recovering addicts as much as possible.
I’m here if you want to talk
Find a NA group and fellowship. Get a sponsor. You get high…We stay sober.
I agree with everyone on here... Get to a meeting as soon as you can .. and stick around and talk with people after .. or go early and help set up and talk to people... The more you get out of your head ... And talk/work/relate to another addict... You will feel better and you will start to believe in yourself
you can do this! Keep reaching out
I sent you a friend request...if you need to talk directly to someone... Msg me!! Please.. I would love to help... I have been there too
Every urge has a shelf life… I learned this concept called urge surfing through addiction counseling. When you get the urge, get busy think of something else do something in the urge will go away. Every urge has a shelf life and then it’s gone. When I think of drinking And feel the urge coming on I do whatever it takes to take my mind off of it, work out, watch TV, go for a walk, etc. anything to take your mind off of it.
Have you ever heard of urge surfing?Maybe look it up and try it
U need them to up ur dose until u stop having cravings then they will pass ....I was on fentanyl and meth and that's how I got sober and now no cravings at all even when I see people actively using on the street cuz that not me anymore but I had one of the highest doses at 170 ml but that's what it took for my body to not crave it anymore and then I was able to ween off the methadone and now I'm 2 years sober
I got sober from alcohol through virtual meetings, sponsorship and fellowship so it can work. 1815 days in and grateful to be alive❤️.
You can do it!!
Honestly if u are having any dreams or struggling at all u need to go up on ur dose!!!! Methadone has helped me I was on 70 mg for about 2 years I’m slowly coming down 2 mg a month now and I’m on 50 mg now and still feel great haven’t had any cravings no dreams nothing still ready to get off it and do great! I wish I the best take it one day at a time two meetings for online and a meetings talk to people talk to a counselor. Some of you are comfortable with somebody that wants you to succeed whatever you do do not use.!!!!! U can do it believe in yourself and know ur worth you got this!
