Struggling with mood swings, constant crying

Hi friends, I've really been struggling with mood swings and crippling depression. It doesnt matter how hard i try, I cant stop crying. I keep screaming at people that don't deserve it. I'm living in a state where I have no family, no friends, and it's just me and my 3 year old. I made the choice to get sober so my son didn't have to grow up without a mom, but he shouldn't have to see Mommy be a mess all day everyday. I'm all he has and he's all I have.
Anyone have an idea of how long the mood swings last?
Any advice for what I can do for my son in the meantime?

I hope that helps

Shay, this will pass, I promise! Then you’ll have a period of total peace & joy. Imagine yourself totally at peace and happy in a state of total love :heartpulse:. Feel it! And when you go back to misery, fight back and return to your happy place.
Our addiction, our ego, our minds want us dead but will settle for our misery. We must override those thoughts and emotions.
Getting to meetings, sharing, talking to recovering addicts/alcoholics really helps!
I’m here if you want to talk

Cutest kid ever! You’re truly blessed.

Seek help because from what you're describing it sounds like deep depression. There's doctors and medicine to bring you through dark moments, hope this helps. PUT GOD FIRST

Find other women to talk to.

Your crying because you have alot still weighing you down. You can't stop drinking until you drop the weight.

A woman sponsor can really help. Do it for yourself and your son will reap the benefits when mommy gets better.

Shay, I just want to say how proud I am of you for staying sober while going through so much. That takes incredible strength, even if it doesn’t feel like it right now. Mood swings and depression can be really heavy, but please know they don’t last forever healing takes time. You’re doing the best you can for your son by choosing sobriety and showing him love, even on the hard days. Be gentle with yourself. If the emotions feel too overwhelming, it could really help to talk with a doctor or counselor who can support you through this. In the meantime, even small things like going outside for a short walk with your son, keeping a simple routine, and reminding yourself you’re enough can make a difference. You’re not alone in this reaching out like you did here shows how strong you really are.
