What do you replace instead of drinking? I need ideas. Thank you!

Nice chef coat. I cook a lot and find ways of using more flavors. All my taste buds are back and it’s so much fun again

Try new things out until you find some kind of passion. Go to meetings and try to participate :muscle:

I love my bike and I hike a lot. A meeting almost everyday. I’m journaling now and resisting the temptation to switch on the tv. Will meditate soon because it’s been a tough week.i do need to find something I’m passionate about . I drive a van for disabled people. That is becoming my passion. Hope that helps.

Meditation, prayer, meetings, exercise, AA literature, family, friends, find a hobby. I personally do AA service work, and sponsor others.

Diet Coke or herbal tea. I decided to keep the ritual/habit but replaced the beverage. You can still drink something to unwind at the end of the day, but just ditch the alcohol. So, I replaced the alcohol with my water bottle or caffeine free Diet Coke or Sleepy Time tea. There’s nothing wrong with the ritual itself so just change the beverage. Also, ya know, people talk about A.A & going to meetings, but that approach doesn’t work for everyone. So, I decided to listen to Annie Grace instead. I recommend everyone read Annie Grace’s book called “This Naked Mind” & “The 30 Day Alcohol Experiment”. She also has a podcast & you can get her advice for free on YouTube. I’ve been drink seltzer water with maraschino cherries and the juice it’s been pretty good. If i want to spice it up, I put a umbrella in it and some olives

For the physical component of actual fluids, mocktails work.
Mineral water with any of your favorite juices.
For when the moment presents itself, pray & meditation. Along with keeping in mind the consequences of drinking and the progress I have made in sobriety. Going for a run or working out, to the point of exhaustion to where I have no energy to even think of a drink.
Podcasts like; Ted Talks, Hidden brain , and how to better human. just to name a few.

Oh I still drink. Just non alcoholic. Ya girl is a fan of water,coffee, teas, etc. And now my ritual is hot baths and walks. Here lately Ive been doom scrolling. Though doom scrolling isn't really all that healthy. I also love to window shop, go hiking and people watch.
