I’m probably the worst person to respond to this: I’m almost 4 years sober now and chocolate and iced cream are still my favorite things in my diet

Thanks for sharing.

lol just when I thought I would lose weight.

Wow it is interesting. I was never a sweets person. I would always skip dessert and now I can’t get enough. I will have to figure this out for balance because it is out of control.

I hardly ever drank soda before I quit alcohol. Now it's something I have to watch myself with. Your higher power is still the best go-to.

I lost like ten pounds just from not drinking but you still have to do the other healthy things too. Bummer I know! Lollipops are good for that hand to mouth habit and sweet craving plus they are low cal.

Been on it since yesterday but now my stomach is throbbing, seems I had enough already :joy::joy::joy:

Try grapes. They have a lot of sugar in them and are a very sweet snack. Gummies may help as well. I also like the all natural fruity ice pops…pineapple is my fav. Of course none of them replace chocolate, but if you can alternate days it may help. Kinda like harm reduction lol

For me I had to realize that alcohol and other things weren’t the root of what I was addicted to, I was simply a straight up dopamine addict. When it wasn’t booze, it became coffee, when it wasn’t coffee, it was Coca Cola, when it was soda it was sparkling water. I just had to taper myself down to something as minimally destructive as possible.

Same!
