I'm grateful for the concept of "sponsorship." I have continuously relied on my sponsor's experience through the years. I am grateful to be able to, in turn, sponsor other addicts. I just got off the phone with a sponsee in Europe. He's going into detox and rehab tomorrow. He's very scared and is wondering about where the feelings are coming from. I told him that he is very brave for voluntarily going into treatment and that he may be fearing the pain of withdrawals from alcohol and Valium. I am grateful today that someone else trusts me in their recovery and that today I actually am able to help others. Thanks.
