Sunlight and mosquitos

This morning I pulled my yoga mat into my backyard and was immediately calmed by the rising sun and the slight breeze, and I was so grateful to be moving and stretching outside. After a few minutes, I realized my legs had become a block party for mosquitos, and I went into a quiet rage, slapping away while trying to follow the downward dogs and tree poses. I almost cut my routine short, but then I realized I could be present here too, with the itching and with the uninvited guests, who were also just striving to be alive. I decided to accept them as part of the experience, and immediately the calm and the joy returned, enriched by the acceptance of my discomfort. So today, I'm grateful for the sunlight and the yoga and my little mosquito teachers (and next time I do yoga outside, I'll be sure to be grateful for bug repellent). :joy:

I love this! And the thought of your quiet rage made me laugh :joy:

I saw something that said bubble will keep mosquitoes away. Might try a bubble machine next time. Let me know if it works.

Yoga outside is one of my favorites too, but those pesky uninvited guests make me second guess every time!

Bubbles?! I so hope that's true

Exactly lol

A true life test of rage and zen
