Im reminding myself that i have no control over people places and things especially people that has no clue about recovery or sobriety thats why i love this app so much i have my believers people who are broken and going through tough times but still make an effort to be winners in the end i love you all for being you nice to meet you all God bless you always and forever
Sobriety is active and a willingness to learn and so it can be hard to be around people who don't understand. I have been gravitating more and more towards friends and people in recovery because we can connect so deeply. But when we are our authentic selves we can connect with more people than we realize. It just takes practice and patience.
Greatly appreciate your feedback
I will respectfully disagree. I know we hear this a lot in meetings, but it is not based in the Big Book.
The Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous only refers to powerlessness concerning alcohol. I am without strength or resource concerning alcohol. This is step 1.
As for people places and things, that’s where I have no control. I may try to but that’s just my will rather than my HP’s will. So I’m not powerless over people places and things, but how I deal with them is dependent on how well I am practicing these principles in all my affairs.
Hope that makes sense. Just my understanding.
Ok Matt got yeah
Well said Crystal i believe that We don’t have control over people also, God himself give his people choices. Example he gave Adam and his wife instructions and a choice. We all know they had a conversation with Diablo. After the choice’s was made then reality began to emerge. Same thing with alcohol choices then reality.
Thank you jammerson
