Taking a moment to brag on myself!
I went to the bar for the first time since giving up alcohol 25 days ago (Too soon? Probably but I missed my friends and being out) and I didn’t touch a bit of alcohol! I happily sipped on soda water and lime all night and my friend ordered me a mocktail shot to take with them. Feeling extra excited and grateful for everything right now
Great job… just be careful. If you feel uncomfortable or have urges to pick up.. walk away. I still see all my friends and they all drink, but know not to offer any to me. Always have an escape route and a sober buddy to call if needed! Congrats on the 26 days! That’s awesome
Absolutely! I’m definitely not going to make a habit of it but it was nice to know I was able to go and keep the urges at bay. Thank you, I appreciate it!!
I feel like that’s playing with matches while soaking in gasoline. Good for you staying strong but don’t trick yourself into thinking you can always get away with it.
THATS AWESOME! For me it really helps to have supportive friends who know your situation. Sounds like you have that, too. WOOOOO!
And I bet you were the one who didn’t wake up with a hangover the next morning!!!!!

When you say you missed your friends, I automatically think of the three S’s of the Big Book and in particular the Social aspect and it’s important that your friends supported you. You might want to take a sober friend with you and have phone numbers handy. I found myself driving by all my familiar watering holes wondering who was inside. Now I go with my family when they eat at a restaurant that serves alcohol but I have fun with my alcohol “new family” more and have good clean fun.
Good job. I waited 6 months before I went back to karaoke. I also had 10 people with me when I did. Support is good.
I manage 26 places that all have bars, sobriety is habit forming and you shouldn't have to cease going out and hanging out with friends just because they drink.
AA preaches the exact opposite and this is partly why it wasn't for me.
